The large square building with the green roof, centered in the panorama, is Widener Library. Harvard Yard is located adjacent to Widener Library. The tall white steeple to the right of Widener Library is Memorial Church. At the far left, across the Charles River, is Harvard’s athletic facilities including Harvard Stadium. Left of the stadium is Harvard’s Business School. Harvard Square was originally the colonial village of Newtowne. Many of the streets first laid out in the 1630’s are still in use today.
