This panoramic photograph of Bourbon Street was taken by Christopher Gjevre. Bourbon Street, located in the famous French Quarter, is quaint and tranquil by day and a music-filled center of excitement and activity by night. People stroll the brightly lit streets, some of which are closed to automobile traffic in the evening, and take rides in horse-drawn buggies. The streets are lined with restaurants offering exquisite fare, antique shops, souvenirs stores and the best jazz in the world. There are 100 square blocks in the French Quarter. New Orleans is one of few cities that is lively 24 hours a day.
