Text on Panorama
This panorama of the San Jose Sharks playing on their home ice was taken by James Blakeway. The Sharks joined the league in 1991 and, during their third season, they pulled off the largest turnaround in NHL® history, finishing with 82 points, a 58-point jump from the previous season. They earned the franchise’s first Stanley Cup® Playoff berth when they defeated the Detroit Red Wings® in the NHL playoffs. The Sharks best known tradition is their pre-game entrance theme. The players come out of the locker room tunnel through a 17-foot open shark mouth with fog pouring out and eyes flashing red.
