Details

This panoramic photograph of Sydney was taken by Christopher Gjevre. It features downtown Sydney with the Sydney Opera House on the left and the Sydney Harbor Bridge on the right. The Sydney Opera House is one of the most recognized buildings in the world and is home to opera, theater and a symphony orchestra. It's the result of an international design contest in 1956 and was completed in 1973. The Sydney Harbor Bridge was completed in 1932 and crosses what many consider to be the most beautiful harbor in the world. On many days the harbor is busy with sailboats and motor yachts.
