Text on Panorama
This panorama, taken by James Blakeway, captures the action of the Tampa Bay Lightning playing on their home ice. The Lightning were established in 1991. In 1996 they moved into their new home, the St. Pete Times Forum, considered the jewel of downtown Tampa. The Lightning roared through the 2003–04 regular season, finishing with 106 points, second-best in the league and winning the division championship for the second year in a row. Their success continued in the playoffs as they became the first team from the final wave of expansion and the first Sunbelt team to capture the Stanley Cup® Championship. They are also the sixth team in NHL® history to win a title in their finals debut.
