The world-known "Leaning Tower of Pisa" is the most famous landmark to be seen in any Pisa skyline picture. This is the bell tower of Pisa Cathedral, and an excellent example of Romanesque architecture. Construction began in 1063 and concluded with the Leaning Tower in 1174. In addition, the area surrounding the Pisa Cathedral and bell tower houses the Baptistry and Camposanto.
As a city with thousands of years of history, it's understandable why Pisa skyline pictures hold so much fascination today. While the iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa is easily the most famous icon of the city, many other wonders can be found within Pisa skyline photos for all those interested in Roman and Italian history and architecture.
