It features a view of the expansive downtown metropolitan area with the Georgia Dome, home of the Atlanta Falcons football team, to the far right. Pictured right of center, in the foreground, is the corporate headquarters building of The Coca Cola Company. To its left, is the sprawling campus of the Georgia Institute of Technology. Centered in the photograph in the distance is Stone Mountain, a huge granite monolith, with a deep carving memorializing the leaders of the Confederacy. On the left side of the photograph, in the distance, is the popular uptown area known as Buckhead.

This twilight panorama of Atlanta, Georgia, was taken by James Blakeway. On the left side of the panorama is the area known as Midtown. The three tallest buildings in Midtown, from left to right, are Promenade II, 1180 Peachtree (commonly referred to as Symphony Tower), and One Atlantic Center. The tallest building on the right side of the panorama is Bank of America Plaza, with its brightly lit, pointed roof. To the far right is the Georgia Dome with its white fiberglass fabric roof, home to the Atlanta Falcons football team. Atlanta was incorporated in 1845 and, today, is a major business city and transportation hub, with the busiest airport in the world.

The state capital and most populated city in Georgia, Atlanta skyline pictures show the 9th largest metropolitan area in the U.S., home to over 5.4 million residents. Incorporated in 1845, Atlanta has grown to be a major transportation hub and home to many world-famous corporations. Many Atlanta skyline pictures show a unique range of architectural styles thanks to the city's origination as a railroad town, a unique characteristic that caused pictures of Atlanta to develop differently over the years than what has seen in traditional southern U.S. cities.

The most prominent feature in Atlanta skyline pictures is the city's tallest skyscraper with its illuminated roof, Bank of America Plaza, completed in 1992 and reaching 1,023 feet in height. Other examples of iconic architecture present in Atlanta skyline photos include the three-tiered Georgia Pacific Tower, the lit columns of 191 Peachtree Tower, and the Westin Peachtree Plaza, once the tallest hotel in the world.

This airport is the busiest in the world and is the largest airline hub.
