Aggie fans were out in force and showed their passion and support by wearing the team colors of Aggie blue and fighting white. Utah State’s first intercollegiate football game took place November 25, 1892 on what is now the Quad on the university’s main campus. Utah State’s football program celebrates a long and storied history that includes numerous conference championships and bowl game appearances.

Utah State University in Logan, UT is home to over a dozen varsity teams collectively known as the Utah State Aggies. With 16 varsity teams as of 2017, Utah State is widely known for its football program. The first game was played in 1892, when the "Agriculturalists" defeated the University of Utah. Its teams play in NCAA Division I, and in recent years joined the Mountain West Conference after the departure of Utah and BYU.

Since 1968, Utah State football has made its home at Merlin Olsen Field at Maverik Stadium. The venue is partially named after famous alumni, Merlin Olsen, who became an announcer, actor, and played in the NFL as a defensive tackle with the Los Angeles Rams. The team has made multiple bowl game appearances and victories, and has had a resurgence in popularity in recent years that will continue to draw growing interest.
