Split Rock Lighthouse
Split Rock Lighthouse Panoramic Pictures
Located on the North Shore of Lake Superior, Split Rock Lighthouse panoramic pictures feature one of the most famous figures of the Great Lakes, and has been in place since 1910. While the lighthouse has not been in operation since 1969, it is lit every year on November 10 in remembrance of the SS Edmund Fitzgerald, which sank in 1975.
Listed as a National Historic Landmark, the buildings in Split Rock Lighthouse panoramas were originally constructed in response to the loss of 29 ships in Lake Superior during the Mataafa Storm of 1905.
