This panoramic photograph of Miami was taken by Christopher Gjevre. It features a twilight view of the spectacular Miami downtown skyline and Biscayne Bay. The ship in the turning basin is the Queen Elizabeth II during one of its visits to Miami. At the far left is the Port of Miami cruise ship terminals. Behind the QEII is the American Airlines Arena, home of the Miami Heat basketball team. The tallest building is First Union Financial Center. The tall, white building is Nationsbank Tower. In addition to tourism, Miami has more that 3000 manufacturing firms, 170 banks and a large agricultural industry.

This panoramic photograph of Miami Beach was taken by James Blakeway. It features a spectacular twilight view of the Art Deco District in the South Beach area of Miami Beach. The whole area has fanciful architecture from the 1920's and 1930's and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. These buildings are further accented with an abundance of neon light, porthole windows and colorful etched glass. The area is located on a long narrow island between Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic Ocean near Miami Florida. It is a world famous, year-around resort, with beautiful hotels, ornate nightclubs, and extensive sand beaches.

With a population home to 5.5 million residents, Miami skyline pictures show a colorful, popular tourist destination in Florida along the Atlantic Coast.
