This panorama, photographed by Christopher Gjevre, features the BYU Cougars playing on their home turf at LaVell Edwards Stadium against in-state opponent Utah State. With the exception of three years during World War II, and a three-year break from 2003-2005, the BYU Cougars and Utah State Aggies have faced one another in each season since 1922. The winner is traditionally awarded the Old Wagon Wheel, a trophy that has traveled between the two schools since 1948. The Cougar's time-honored football successes include the Heisman Trophy, conference and national championships, and participation in numerous bowl games. BYU was founded in 1875 and is located in Provo, Utah.

This panorama, taken by James Blakeway, provides a snapshot of the excitement as the BYU Cougars defeat their co-conference opponent. This is only the third time these two teams have met in play and, the first time ever at the Marriott Center. This is a matchup that many BYU fans looked forward to, including thousands of BYU students. Despite the not-so-warm weather during basketball season in Provo, students camped outside the Marriott Center in hopes of snagging front row seating. The Marriott Center was named in honor of benefactor J. Willard Marriott, founder of the Marriott Corporation. BYU fielded its first basketball team in 1903.

This panorama of LaVell Edwards Stadium was taken by Robert Pettit. It spotlights the Brigham Young Cougars playing against Georgia Tech, an ACC opponent. The game was the grand finale of events throughout BYU Homecoming week, including a spectacular win for the Cougars. The game was also a sectional striped game, where fans sitting in odd sections are asked to wear dark blue and fans sitting in even sections are asked to wear white. The True Blue Foam tradition, one of the most popular Homecoming activities among students, was also a part of the weeks’ events, when students converge on Helaman Fields to show their spirit while diving, sliding and dancing into a sea of blue foam.
