Sydney, Australia Skyline Pictures

As the capital of New South Wales and the largest city in Australia, Sydney skyline pictures show a city claimed to have the most beautiful harbor in the world. Many Sydney panoramic pictures show the harbor frequently busied with sailboats, cruise ships and yachts.

Downtown Sydney skyline photos frequently focus on perhaps the most iconic building in Australia, the Sydney Opera House, which was created surrounding a design contest during the 1950s and open to international entries. Home to Opera Australia, the Australian Ballet, the Sydney Theatre Company and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, the Sydney Opera House is a prime attraction for tourists and Sydney photographers alike because of its beautiful, unique expressionist architectural style. As one of the most famous performing arts centers on earth, the structure has been unsurprisingly listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Another icon in Sydney panoramic pictures is the Sydney Harbour Bridge, which was an uplifting highlight for city residents when the bridge was completed in 1932, during the Depression era. Following the Depression, especially after World War II, Sydney skyline pictures have continued to expand as a large number of European and Asian immigrants have come to settle in this diverse city. Centered in downtown in Sydney panoramas is Centerpoint Tower, which has come to be called the Sydney Tower by city residents. This is the city's tallest structure and second-tallest in Australia, giving views from 1,014 feet above Sydney's central business district on Market Street.

While Sydney skyline pictures are marked by a large number of buildings of varying architectural styles, one of the greatest features of Sydney pictures are the city's many parks, gardens, and access to waterways. One of the most prominent of these natural features in Sydney photos is the Royal Botanic Gardens, open every day of the year since 1816.

Sydney pictures show a vibrant metropolis which has hosted a number of major international sporting events, such as the Commonwealth Games and the 2000 Summer Olympics. As a high ranking world city, Sydney panoramic views show us a beautiful city surrounded by national parks, beaches, and crystal clear waters of the Pacific Ocean. While there are many beautiful cities and locales to see in Australia, from viewing a Sydney panorama this city should rank near the top of anyone's list.
