The varsity teams at Wichita State University are known as the Wichita State Shockers, and compete in NCAA Division I in the Missouri Valley Conference. The Shockers are famously known for their mascot, WuShock, represented as an anthropomorphic "shock" of wheat. This is after the tradition of the university, where students have historically commonly made income by harvesting, or "shocking" wheat around campus.
Wichita State basketball is a powerhouse, with home games played at Charles Koch Arena since 1955. Over 10,500 fans can be accommodated during home games, which is also the site of Wichita State volleyball. WSU basketball pictures capture the fans in a sea of gold on game day, at the court heralded as ranking 38th in the nation by attendance. The Shockers have celebrated victories over many #1 seeded teams in the Final Four throughout its history. Now, you can celebrate the excitement of the black and yellow year round and relive your favorite Shockers game memories.
