The long-standing relationship has produced a dedicated group of patrons. Known to all as “Broncomania”, the club’s loyal fan base has resulted in a record number of consecutive season sellouts and the highest local ratings for televised games of any NFL city in the country.

The Denver Broncos began as one of eight American Football League (AFL) charter franchises in 1960 and entered the NFL with the merger of the two leagues in 1970. With one of the best records in pro football over the past 50 seasons, the Denver Broncos have been one of the most consistent winners in professional sports. The Broncos won their first AFL game ever played, and they captured their first Super Bowl win in the 1997 season – the first of back-to-back Super Bowl Championships. The Broncos’ success on the field is more than matched by a spectacular fan base. Denver has sold out every home game since the beginning of the 1970 season, marking the second-longest active streak in the NFL.

This panorama of the Denver Broncos playing on their home field was taken by Christopher Gjevre. The club reached the NFL's pinnacle by capturing its first World Championship in Super Bowl XXXII. Since 1960 the Denver Broncos have grown into a team that is followed by legions of fans throughout the Rocky Mountain region. The Broncos popularity has translated into several home game traditions, and one such tradition is called the "Incomplete Chant." It begins when the opposing team throws an incomplete pass, the stadium announcer then broadcasts the incomplete pass, the fans complete the chant by saying "in-com-plete," and the process ends with the sound effect of the "sad trombone."
