The new arena, named Rogers Place, was completed just in time for the 2016 season. It provides one of the most technologically enabled stadiums in North America and brings passionate fans a connected game experience powered by the country's fastest LTE network. This new facility encompasses 819,200 square feet with seven separate levels. The innovative design provides 18,500 seats for NHL® games, 20,030 seats for concerts and center stage events. The facility also offers the largest true high-definition center-hung scoreboard in the NHL.

This panorama captures the excitement of the 2016 NHL Heritage Classic™ in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The Winnipeg Jets™ played host to the Edmonton Oilers® at this outdoor game. The event launched the 2016-2017 outdoor season for the NHL® and marked the first appearance for the Winnipeg Jets in an outdoor game. This is the fourth NHL Heritage Classic, which traditionally includes only Canadian teams. The matchup between Winnipeg and Edmonton pays tribute to the shared hockey history between the two cities, as both the Edmonton Oilers and the Winnipeg Jets entered the NHL in 1979 as part of a four-team expansion.

This panorama, taken by James Blakeway, commemorates the Edmonton Oilers® final game at Rexall Place on Wednesday, April 6, 2016, against division rivals, the Vancouver Canucks®. Rexall Place was home to the Edmonton Oilers since 1974, when it was known as Northlands Coliseum. The entire Farewell Season featured “Once an Oiler, Always an Oiler” segments at every game. For the official closing ceremony, all Oilers were invited back to celebrate the rich history at Rexall Place, from their roots in the WHA, to the glory years of the 1980’s Stanley Cup® dynasty teams where they rewrote the NHL® record books, to the modern era.
