SKU: IMS5
This aerial panorama, photographed by James Blakeway, commemorates the 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500® Mile Race. The inaugural running in 1911 was won by Ray Harroun, the man nicknamed “The Little Professor.” Billed as “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing®,” the Indy 500® is the most prestigious event of the IndyCar calendar, and one of the oldest and most important automobile races. It has been declared the largest single-day sporting event in the world. Likewise, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway itself is regarded as one of the world’s largest sporting facilities in terms of capacity, with as many as 350,000 fans in attendance.

Over the past century, this track has developed the reputation of being a destination track for racing not only within the United States, but also internationally. Any fan of auto racing and any follower of NASCAR events will display these images with pride.
