Montreal, Quebec, Canada City Skyline Panoramic Picture - Twilight

SKU: MON2
This panoramic photograph of Montréal was taken by James Blakeway. It features a beautiful twilight image of downtown Montréal as seen looking across the St. Lawrence River. Montréal is located on an island at the junction of the Ottawa and St. Lawrence Rivers and is the economic and cultural heart of the largely French-speaking province of Québec. The tallest building, with its triangular-shaped roof, is 1000 rue de la Gauchetiére. The area along the river on the right is known as Old Montréal. It retains its historic character with the largest concentration of 17th, 18th and 19th Century buildings in North America. In the distance is Mount Royal (originally French Mont Réal), the hill after which the city is named.

Montreal, Canada Panoramic City Skyline Wall Decor

Our Montreal city skyline pictures feature the largest city in Quebec and second-largest in Canada. With a metro area home to 3.8 million residents, Montreal skyline decor shows a UNESCO City of Design and Canada's cultural capital.

The city is strategically placed at the union of the St. Lawrence and Ottawa Rivers. This access helped develop the city into a transportation hub. In addition, the construction of the Lachine Canal aided in development of the city, and the Victoria Bridge transformed Montreal into a major rail hub. An iconic building in Montreal skyline wall decor is 1000 rue de la Gauchetiére, reaching 673 feet in height.
