Indianapolis, IN Skyline Pictures

Indianapolis skyline pictures feature the 12th largest city in the U.S., home to well-known national events such as the Indianapolis 500, NCAA basketball tournaments, and NHRA U.S. Nationals. As the destination for many widely attended conventions and sporting events, pictures of the Indianapolis skyline show a city with an increasingly diversified economy and cultural base.

A famous feature prominently displayed in many Indianapolis pictures is the RCA Dome, which was home to the Indianapolis Colts NFL franchise from 1984 to 2007. This landmark has been replaced in newer Indianapolis pictures with the Colts' new home, the Lucas Oil Stadium. As part of the Indiana Convention Center, the campus has been under construction to expand the city's convention attendance capacities. Not far from the city's convention hub is Bankers Life Fieldhouse - also known as Conseco Fieldhouse - which is the home of the Indiana Pacers basketball team. Behind this historic brick construction is the State Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument, generally considered the center of the downtown district.

Perhaps the most internationally famous landmark spotted in Indianapolis skyline pictures is the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, home to the Indianapolis 500 race. With a seating capacity of over a quarter million fans, it is the highest-capacity stadium in the world.

Many institutions and publications have ranked Indianapolis as one of the best downtowns in the continental United States. As one of the larger cities in the U.S. and destination for many national conventions, it is easy to see why the Indianapolis skyline will continue to grow and provide us with stunning imagery for years to come.
