Little Rock, AR Skyline Pictures

Located in the center of its state, Little Rock skyline pictures show a city whose name was inspired by a rock formation on the south bank of the Arkansas River, la Petite Roche ("the little rock"). Originally, the city was a transportation landmark for this outcropping and became a well-known crossing in early river traffic in the United States.

Today, skyline pictures of Little Rock have grown to show a city rich in residents and resources with a population ever increasing towards 1 million. Many buildings in Little Rock skyline pictures are situated along the banks of the Arkansas River, which makes a colorful foreground in many Little Rock photos because of the beautiful reflections of lights in its waters at night.

The tallest building in Little Rock skyline pictures is the Statehouse Convention Center, which was once home to the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Trojans basketball team during the 1980s. The tallest and most prominent building in Little Rock photos is the Metropolitan National Bank Tower, a 40 story skyscraper equipped with many antennas and satellites to serve local radio and cell communications. The second tallest building is Stephens Building.

Other famous landmarks seen in Little Rock panoramic pictures include the site of the Arkansas State Capitol, a neo-classical structure constructed from 1899-1915. As the largest city in Arkansas with a history dating back to 1722, it's easy to see when viewing a Little Rock skyline picture why this metropolis of the Midwest continues to draw so many businesses and tourists today.
