Hartford, CT Skyline Pictures

As the fourth largest city in Connecticut, Hartford skyline pictures show one of the state's most famous and historic cities, founded during the mid-1600s. Nicknamed the "Constitution State", this region - and specifically, the city of Hartford - was the location of a series of documents which eventually evolved to ultimately become the U.S. Constitution. Beyond Hartford pictures showing one of the most influential cities in early America is its home to famous figures of Americana, such as Mark Twain. The author wrote most of his famous stories here, which cannot be guessed by viewing a Hartford skyline panoramic picture.

Situated along the Connecticut River, this waterway provides a stunning backdrop in many Hartford skyline panoramas. With a number of historically diverse buildings, Hartford pictures show a city home to institutions such as Trinity College (one of the oldest colleges in the U.S.), the historic homes of Mark Twain and Harriet Beecher Stowe, and the University of Connecticut School of Law.

The tallest building seen in many Hartford skyline pictures is City Place One, which is also the tallest building in Connecticut and reaches 38 stories in height. Seen nearby in Hartford skyline pictures is Travelers Tower, a neoclassical - beaux-arts building which was seventh tallest in the world when its construction completed in 1919. Built in the late 1800s, the Connecticut State Capitol building is easily spotted in many Hartford photos, and can be picked out from its surroundings thanks to its gold-domed roof.

Another famous landmark seen in Hartford skyline pictures is the Bulkeley Bridge, a nine-spanned stone arch bridge which is the largest bridge of its type in the world. The current bridge seen in Hartford skylines is the third built at this location, which the previous both built during the early 1800s.

Despite the city's small size, Hartford panoramic skylines show a strong metropolitan area second in the country in economic activity. Home to America's oldest public art museum, oldest public park, and oldest newspaper, it's easy to see the historic value in Hartford skyline panoramas that continue to draw our imagination today.
