Mount Rushmore Panoramic Poster

SKU: RUSH1
This panorama of Mount Rushmore National Memorial, known as the “Shrine of Democracy,” was taken by Christopher Gjevre. It took 14 years to finish the enormous project, which was completed on October 31, 1941. During that period, more than 450,000 tons of rock were removed from the mountain, with 90 percent of the monument carved using dynamite. The four American presidents carved into the granite of Mount Rushmore were chosen by sculptor Gutzon Borglum to commemorate the birth, growth, preservation and development of the United States. The National Park Service maintains Mount Rushmore and welcomes upwards of 3 million visitors every year. It is one of America’s most popular tourist attractions.

Mount Rushmore Panoramic Pictures

With millions of visitors annually, panoramic pictures of Mount Rushmore capture the views of one of the Midwest's most beloved tourist attractions and an amazing tribute to four U.S. presidents. Mount Rushmore panoramas capture the carved detail set into the massive rockface depicting Presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore (Teddy) Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln. Construction on the memorial began in the late 1920s, and has been a major tourist destination since its progress to the present-day site in the 1940s.

Panoramic photography captures all the detail of this magnificent national monument bathed in sunlight. When looking at images of Mount Rushmore, it is amazing to think that over 400 workers sculpted these 60 foot high sculptures into the rockface over many years.

Mount Rushmore panoramas make the perfect addition to any environment where one wants to remember a favorite trip to the American Midwest, or provide a remarkable accent to your Americana decor.
