Eastern Washington Eagles Panoramic - Roos Field Picture

This panorama, taken by Christopher Gjevre, captures the action of the Eastern Washington University football team playing its inaugural game on its new red Sprinturf surface at newly re-named Roos Field (formerly Woodward Field). The opponent for the Eagles on this historic day on September 18, 2010, was its Big Sky Conference rival, the University of Montana Grizzlies. The Eagles broke a 27-all tie with a field goal with four seconds remaining, then iced the victory on the final play of the game with a 34-yard fumble return for a touchdown. The final score of 36-27 will go down as one of the greatest victories in school history. Established in 1882, the University's main campus is located in Cheney, Washington.

Cheney, Washington is home to Eastern Washington University. Founded in 1882, the University provides higher education at multiple campus locations throughout the state. Its athletics program - the Eastern Washington Eagles - are a member of the Big Sky Conference under NCAA Division I. With 12 varsity teams, the Eastern Washington football program is the most well-known. EWU Eagles football pictures capture the views of home turf at Roos Field, well-known as being one of the most unique destinations for football internationally. EWU was the second NCAA Division I football program to renovate their field with a non-green playing surface (the first being Boise State). Roos Field photos capture what is widely considered one of the most difficult locations for offensive teams to play.

Decorated in the school's colors, Roos Field has a bright red playing surface accented with black and white. Stadium capacity has long accommodated under 10,000 fans, but future renovations have been in the works since 2012 and plan to grow the facility to a 15,000+ capacity.

Eastern Washington football panoramas not only display one of the most vibrant, unique and challenging destinations in collegiate sports, but also hold pride for followers of Eagles football. In 2010, the EWU football program made their first appearance in the FCS Championship Game to take the University's first national championship football title. Excitement for the Eagles is captured through the panoramic lens in these exclusive, officially licensed images, and will surely bring pride to any fan of Eastern Washington football for many years to come.
