Founded in 1854 by settlers from nearby Council Bluffs, Iowa, the picturesque Omaha skyline has been a symbol of the "Gateway to the West" for well over 150 years. Its central location has given it great importance as a transportation and Western migration hub, and was the host of the World's Fair in 1898.

Many Omaha skyline pictures feature the city's stunning skyscrapers positioned along the Missouri River. Some of the tallest buildings in Omaha photos include Woodmen Tower, Elmwood Tower, One First National Center and Union Pacific Center. One of the newer constructions in Omaha skyline pictures is the Qest Center Omaha, also known as CenturyLink Center, an arena and convention center that has hoted the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament and the NCAA Men's Division I Wrestling Championships.

As an important national transportation hub and major destination for the telecommunications industry, Omaha's skyline continues to be influenced in growth by the city's power in Midwest commerce. As the host of many significant sports events and the College World Series, Omaha pictures feature a city with attractions for many tourists to enjoy.
