Thoroughbreds can be seen at dawn going through morning paces as they prepare for race campaigns leading up to the annual race meets. Churchill Downs has run the annual Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks continuously since their debut in 1875. The signature Twin Spires were completed as part of a new grandstand in 1895 and would become the symbol of Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby.

From left to right are the challenging 5,965 yard Queen's Course, the famous 6,790 yard King's Course and at 7,088 yards, The PGA Centenary Course. The King's and Queen's Courses were designed by the first man to win five Open Championships, James Braid. The King's Course opened in 1919 and is considered a masterpiece that tests even the best players' shot-making skills. Venue of the 2014 Ryder Cup, The PGA Centenary Course, designed by Jack Nicklaus was opened in 1993 and is a modern classic.

This aerial panoramic photograph of Churchill Downs was taken by James Blakeway from a helicopter during the running of the Kentucky Derby . The Kentucky Derby has run continuously at Churchill Downs since the track's inaugural race meet on May 17, 1875. A new grandstand was completed in 1895, complimented by the Twin Spires atop the roof. The Twin Spires would become the symbol of Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby. A 7/8-mile turf track lies inside of a one-mile dirt track. The Kentucky Derby has been referred to as the 'greatest two minutes in sports" and was first telecast nationally in 1952.

This aerial panoramic photograph of Pebble Beach Golf Links was taken by James Blakeway. The famous course was a vision of Samuel F.B. Morse, a distant relative of the inventor of Morse Code and the telegraph. Located on the Monterey Peninsula in California, Pebble Beach was designed by Jack Neville and Douglas Grant and opened for play in 1919. Pebble Beach is bordered by the incredible natural beauty of Carmel Bay and has a very rich history, including 10 USGA championships and nearly six decades as an annual host to the National Pro-Am. Unlike other courses of its stature, Pebble Beach remains open to public play.

Royal Troon Golf Club, situated on the west coast of Scotland was formed in 1878 at a meeting of enthusiasts in Troon and quickly developed a reputation as a testing course. The Old Course, located in the foreground, is widely accepted as one of the most difficult courses in Scotland. With the wind and the deep rough interspersed with gorse and broom, accuracy is essential. The Portland Course, located in the distance, is a more sheltered par 71 course. The clubhouse is located at the far left of the panorama.
St Andrews Links Golf Course Aerial Panorama

This aerial panoramic photograph of the St Andrews Links golf courses was taken by James Blakeway. Separated by roads, St Andrews’ five 18-hole courses from the water are the Jubilee, New, Old, Eden, and Strathtyrum Courses. The 9-hole Balgrove Course is located at the bottom-center of the panorama. The Old Course was first played 600 years ago. It features 112 bunkers, including the Road Bunker, and double greens which are shared by two holes. The purchase of this panorama contributes to the preservation and maintenance of the famous courses at St Andrews Links.
