Text on Panorama
This aerial panoramic photograph of New York was taken by James Blakeway and features lower Manhattan, looking north, with the Hudson River on the left and the East River on the right. Battery park is visible on the southern tip of Manhattan in an area known as the financial district. This area includes Wall Street and many major U.S. stock exchanges and financial institutions. The two closest bridges crossing the East River are the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges. Ellis Island is behind and slightly left of the Statue of Liberty. New York's tallest skyscraper, the Empire State Building can be seen in the distance.
