This twilight panorama of Niagara Falls was taken by James Blakeway. The waterfalls are located on the Niagara River in western New York State and southeastern Ontario. Niagara Falls consists of three waterfalls: the American Falls to the left of center, Bridal Veil Falls just right of the American Falls and the Horseshoe Falls on the right of the panorama, which is on the Canadian side of the border. Every evening, after sunset, illumination of the falls displays a rainbow of colors in the rapidly moving water and mist. Lighting up the sky most weekends is a colorful fireworks display.

The panoramic photograph of Pisa was taken by James Blakeway. It features Pisa Cathedral and its famous leaning bell tower. The two structures are part of Pisa's beloved Campo dei Miracoli, or Field of Miracles. Construction of the Romanesque Cathedral began in 1063 and work began on the Leaning Tower in 1174, which began to lean almost immediately. Pisa is also known for its famous University, founded in 1343, with over 30,000 students enrolled today. One of the university's most famous scholars was Galileo. This former maritime republic was a very important commercial center during the Middle Ages and controlled a significant Mediterranean fleet.

This panoramic photograph of the Pyramids of Giza was taken by James Blakeway. The three largest pyramids from left to right are the pyramid of Menkaura with its subsidiary pyramids, the pyramid of Khafra, and the Great Pyramid of Khufa. The Great Pyramid of Khufa is the largest. It covers 13 acres and had an original height of 481 feet. The apex of the pyramid was probably covered with gold. Khufu's son Khafra constructed the second pyramid slightly smaller than his father's but similar in proportion. Khafra's son Menkaura built his pyramid less than half the height of the previous pyramids of his father and grand father.

This panoramic photograph of the Roman Coliseum was taken by James Blakeway. The Coliseum is one of Rome's most visited tourist attractions. When the Coliseum was completed in 80 A.D., the opening was celebrated with 100 days of games. It sat over 50,000 spectators, was over 160 feet high and had eighty entrances. Public events such as gladiator fights and wild animal hunts were held with professional fighters, volunteers or people who were captured to fight. The gladiator fights were held until 404 A.D., and for much of that time, according to tradition, Christians were thrown to the beasts.

At the right of the panorama is a portion of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, a 4.5-mile bridge that was first opened in 1936. Visible in the distance is the Golden Gate Bridge which has become an internationally recognized symbol of San Francisco and was the longest suspension bridge span in the world when it was completed in 1937. Visible in the distant right is the former federal prison, Alcatraz Island. On the left is AT&T Park, home to the San Francisco Giants baseball team.
